Learning to tell time can be difficult but Mrs Strydom’s class made clocks to help make it easier to grasp. This was a fun way to teach time by making the concept enjoyable and they practiced telling the time by reading a traditional (analog) clock-face.

Hangman

Mrs Strydom’s class played Hangman. Hangman is an old word game children played together to test their vocabulary skills. Each child has a turn to select a spelling word and his/her classmates have to guess the letters in the words before he/she is hanged.

Tens are tall

Grade 2s are learning place value through song, play, blocks and bottle tops. 

The song we sing to remember tens and units goes like so..

Book Character Dress up

Last week the Grade 2’s had a fantastic time taking part in dressing up as their favourite book characters and authors. Some came walking into school dressed as fairies, monsters and we even had a karate kid.

Johannesburg South Spell-a-thon
