Forty brave and nervous contestants took part in our school Spelling Bee Competition last Friday. Each learner had to stand up and spell words out loud in front of the whole school!
Everybody from Grades 4 to 7 got the same sixty words to learn and then wrote a spelling test in class. From there, the top ten spellers from each grade were selected as contestants in the competition. They had to learn a thousand words and some of them are very difficult! After a number of gruelling rounds, our results emerged.
In third place, congratulations to Siphe Nokwe (Gr. 5). In second place, Siphamandla Ndlovu (Gr. 5)
In first place Nsovo Mathebula (Gr. 6).
All three of these learners are very diligent and put substantial effort into the learning of their words. Well done!
