Recording at ProTrax Studio

Excitement was in the air when 20 of our children who are taking part in the Revue were taken to Pro-Tax to record the medley.

The ProTrax Studio in Lynnwood Glen, Pretoria, offers a professional recording environment for up-and-coming artists, young professionals and schools. Rian Swanepoel, the main engineer, has been active in the South African music industry since the late 1990s and is an accomplished recording engineer, session vocalist, songwriter, arranger, recording artist and performer.

Our students arrived at the recording studio where Mr Rian Swanepoel, explained the rules and regulations of the recording studio. He also explained how the songs will be recorded.  Every learner had an opportunity to wear a head set and get to stand in front of a microphone which they sang into. We recorded one song after the other. Rian then produced the medley and the end product was perfect.

The children said that they felt like superstars and professional recording artists that day.  Who knows….? Maybe we have the next Will.I.am and Fergie in the making…
