Revue developed in the 1890s and was originally a collection of short sketches, songs, dances, comic interludes and even short plays typically dealing satirically with topical issues. This entertaining singing and dancing activity has been introduced to CityKidz children this year.
A Trip Down Memory Lane is our revue theme and we are very excited about the competitions we have been entered into for 2019. The Kaleidoscope Competition at the State Theatre in Pretoria is one of the most recognised revue competitions held annually. Schools all around Gauteng are participating in this competition. They are all wanting to be crowned the best of the best. Our revue group will be going to Pro Trax (a recording studio in PTA) on the 20th of September to record their songs on a CD for the competition next year.
We are very excited and have been practicing our hearts out to make sure we are crowned the best.
