The Grade 6 and 7 Soccer and Netball Mini Tournament was originally planned for Tuesday 08th November at Mayfair Convent Primary. This was postponed twice because of rainy weather. We are always grateful for rain and the lack of rain during the winter months had become a concern. Earlier this week we were gifted by torrential downpours and although we appreciate every little drop we were nevertheless disappointed of having to postpone the event twice.
We were all still holding thumbs and praying for a sunny day for Thursday on Wednesday night.

Competitions really inspires everyone. We cannot underestimate how it builds a positive classroom community. It helps to strengthen parent-teacher and learner-teacher relationships. The participation from the children helps develop problem-solving skills. It also brings out skills, talents, gifts, and creativity that may not have seen within traditional classroom projects. I’m certain you may have noticed that it builds confidence in children that may have previously been reticent to get involved. Competition brings out the best in people and pushes them to excel.
