Grade 2 learners learn about transport

As we fly through Term 3, our Grade 2 pupils have been learning about one of the most exciting, interesting and relevant topics: “Transport”. Learners were tasked with creating a 3D model of their favourite mode of transport and had to tell their fellow classmates why their chosen mode was their favourite.

Transport is something applicable to everyone, including our Grade 2’s. Although we often hear that reasons for favouring specific types of transport over others include speed, style and popularity, this topic also introduced us to the importance of transport. Some learners like buses because it means that they can sit next to their friends in a row. Some like boats because they take us over vast stretches of water. Others like aeroplanes as they can take them to far away, foreign places to visit family and friends that they miss. No matter the reason, transport is important to us all.

Not only did we have interesting speeches, but we saw many different modes of transport which made use of clever and different materials effectively and in unique ways. We always encourage our learners to strive to achieve, and I think it’s safe to say that our learners overachieved with this task! Keep on flying high Grade 2’s!
