Our Grade 5 learners enjoyed an exciting and unforgettable outing to Croc City! From the moment we arrived, there was a buzz of excitement as we were welcomed by our friendly guides and introduced to the fascinating world of reptiles.
Learners were amazed to see crocodiles of all sizes and had the opportunity to hold a baby crocodile – a moment many will never forget! The zip line ride or “Croc City Flyover” soars right over the Nile crocodile enclosures. Screams of excitement and laughter filled the air as learners zipped across, safely strapped in and enjoying the bird’s-eye view of the reptiles below.
We learned interesting facts about nature from the knowledgeable guides and our Grade 5s were engaged and ready to learn. Did you know that cockroaches and flies are detritivores? This means that they eat decaying plant and animal matter. By doing so, they release nutri- ents held inside the organic matter back into the ecosystem.
Apart from the educational experience, learners enjoyed spending time with their friends outdoors, sharing snacks andmaking special memories. This fun-filled day ended with big smiles, tired feet anda new appreciation for nature. It was a wonderful outing, definitely a day to remember!
