Trip to the Zoo

Our trip started with a short bus ride from school where the children sang "Old Mc Donald" and mimicked jungle animal sounds . We were able to see a wide variety of animals. The children were very excited to see the mighty elephant drinking water and the tall giraffe eating it's lunch. The lion walked right up to the window for a selfie and the tigers were annoyed that we woke them up from their sleep. Mr Hippo could not be bothered and merely made  grunting noises ....kinda like a deep laugh and slowly waddled out of the pool to get some much needed rest. The crocodiles slept through it all while the monkeys put on a little acrobatic performance for the kids. "Sort of like ninjas", said Ahlumile .

Although the day was very hot and sunny the children managed to walk around the zoo effortlessly  because there were many interesting animals around every corner. The children maintained their  enthusiasm and eagerness throughout the day.

We saved the best viewing for last. The "Amazon" was definitely not for the faint hearted, the children made sure to visit the scary bats, snakes, frogs and tarantulas.  We had a wonderful day with our Grade. (Submitted by Mrs Abed)
